Make a Wish UK and Save The Children - Christmas Jumper Day – December 2015

On Friday 18th December the Staff at the Farnham Road Practice came to work in their best Christmas Jumpers to help raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support, Make-A-Wish® UK and Save the Children. The day was a great success and as a Practice we raised £150. We would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the patients that donated and supported us.

Toxic Shock Syndrome – February 2015

This is a rare and potentially fatal condition associated with tampon use. Sunday 15th February was National awareness day and our General Manager, Gary Edwards, rode the 106 miles from Burnham to Caerwent in South Wales as part of the campaign to raise awareness. Farnham Road Surgery also held a cake sale on Friday 13th February to help raise awareness for this condition. For more information about Toxic Shock Syndrome visit:

Movember – November 2014

The Movember Foundation is the leading global organisation committed to changing the face of men’s health. They achieve this by challenging men to grow moustaches during Movember (the month formerly known as November) to spark conversation and raise funds for prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health problems. Taking part can mean many things to many people, but if something’s worth doing, it’s worth doing right. It would be simple to just sit back and do nothing, but it would be admirable to sign up and do something significant.

We chose Movember for our latest charity event at the Farnham Road Practice. Unfortunately though we could not persuade any of the males here to grow a moustaches so the ladies took matters into their own hands and decided that they would not shave/wax their legs for the month of November. In total 14 staff took part, Through sponsorship and a cake sale on 28th November we managed to raise over £500 for this great cause. Thank you to those who took part, and those who sponsored us to do so. Another great team effort.
