Home Visits

Doctor's bag

Please call the surgery before 10:30 if you think you need a doctor to visit either yourself or a member of your family at home.

Home visits are only offered to patients housebound for medical reasons and are undertaken at the doctors’ discretion. Unfortunately, lack of transport does not constitute being housebound.

Patients may be asked to come to the surgery if this is felt to be more appropriate as the facilities are better for examination and treatment and it allows doctors to use their time more effectively.

You can also be visited at home by a community nurse if you are referred by your GP. You should also be visited at home by a health visitor if you have recently had a baby or if you are newly registered with a GP and have a child under five years.
