Human Resources Officer

Hours: Full-time 37.5 hours, Monday to Friday

Salary: £24,000 - £34,000 per annum based on experience

 

We have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced, CIPD Qualified HR Officer to join our growing and busy group of GP Practices in Slough, Berkshire. The primary focus of the role is to support the HR Lead in the administration, planning and delivery of Farnham Road Medical Group’s people strategy by having a clear understanding of FRMG’s objectives and be able to devise and implement policies which select, develop and retain our Staff. This can be a very admin heavy role, so we are looking for someone who is willing to roll their sleeve ups and get stuck in to get the job done.

Working closely with the HR Lead, you will:

• Recruit staff, which involves developing job descriptions and person specifications, preparing job adverts, checking application forms, shortlisting, interviewing and selecting candidates

• Make sure that prospective staff have the right to work at the organisation and have enhanced DBS clearance

• Develop and implement policies on issues like working conditions, performance management, equal opportunities, disciplinary procedures and absence management

• Advise on pay and other remuneration issues, including promotion and benefits

• Undertake regular salary reviews

• Manage redundancy programmes

• Negotiate with staff and their representatives (for example, trade union officials) on issues relating to pay and conditions, contracts and redundancy packages

• Plan and sometimes deliver training, including new staff inductions

• Analyse training needs in conjunction with departmental managers.

• Develop HR planning strategies, which consider immediate and long-term staff requirements

• Interpret and advise on employment law

• Deal with grievances and implement disciplinary procedures

• Work closely with hiring managers to assist them to understand and implement policies and procedures

• Promote equality and diversity as part of the culture of the organisation

• Liaise with a range of people involved in policy areas such as staff performance and health and safety

HR Administration

• Maintain Employee records

• Provide general administrative support to the HR Lead

• Draft employment contracts, offer letters and other HR related correspondence and seek references for new recruits

• Assist in the updating and review of policies and procedures

• Process annual leave entitlement for all staff and keep up to date records

• Keep up to date absence, injury, and incapacity records for all staff; support the ‘Return to Work’ process

• Maintain Staff Handbook

• Track and schedule probation reviews for new starters and annual reviews for staff

• Work with the Finance Officer to review and handle HR data for payroll purposes and ensure any changes are amended e.g. hours, benefits, salary, deductions etc.

Salaried GP

Farnham Road Practice is a large, progressive and innovative training Practice looking after nearly 38,000 patients with its main base on the northern edge of the diverse and vibrant Slough community, complemented by smaller sites based in eastern and southern Slough. 

Our Primary Health Care Team continues to grow with GPs working alongside Practice Nurses, Health Care Assistants, Physician Associates, Clinical Pharmacists, Paramedics, MSK Practitioners and Care Co-ordinators, to provide an evolving healthcare and medical service to meet the varying needs of our patients and, in turn, provide what we believe is a sustainable model of modern General Practice.

We place an emphasis on team-work, communication, continual development, incident recording, team problem sharing and solving, training and education.

We are seeking an enthusiastic GP to complement our team to work approximately 6 sessions per week to include:

Physician Associate

We are now recruiting for an experienced or a newly qualified Physician Associate to work within our Primary Care Network multidisciplinary healthcare team.  The Physician Associate (PA) will act within their professional boundaries, working within a general practice setting within the Primary Care Network (PCN). 

Our PAs are an integral part of the general practice team and will be required to participate in all aspects of patient care through knowledge gained from PA training. You will be working as part of committed healthcare professional team including Pharmacists and Healthcare Assistants, and will be supported and supervised by a GP.

You must have full Physician Associate qualifications and be registered with the Physician Associate Managed Voluntary Register (PAMVR). Paramedic

We have a great full-time/part-time opportunity for an enthusiastic, patient focussed and dedicated Paramedic to join our amazing multi-disciplinary team. The primary focus of the role is to work as an autonomous practitioner, as part of Farnham Road Medical Group (FRMG), providing high quality and professional clinical service to our patients across our three Slough sites. The successful candidate will work in collaboration with the other members of our large and friendly multidisciplinary primary care team and doctors in triaging, diagnosing, treating and referring or signposting patients as appropriate and within boundaries of competence and protocols.

Working Hours and Days

The role is flexible for individuals seeking either a full time (37.5 hours) or part-time position.

Patient Services Reception Administrator

 

Contract:  Permanent, Full-Time – 37.5 hours per week

Hours: 5 days a week, Monday – Friday 07.30 – 20.00 on a shift rota basis  

Salary: £9.20 per hour increasing to £9.55 per hour after successful probationary period

The Opportunity:

As one of our team of Patient Services Reception Administrators you will carry out a variety of Front Desk, Telephone and Administrative tasks, such as:

  • Receive patients and make appropriate arrangements for their professional care.
  • Make new and follow up appointments.
  • Accept patients’ requests and queries and act appropriately; including home visits, registration procedures and written repeat medication requests.
  • Help patients to complete surgery forms following registration guidelines.
  • Process telephone calls for appointments, visits and telephone consultations and ensure callers are directed to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
  • Log requests for home visits on to the computer appointment system include all relevant information. Ensure complete and accurate documentation of each patient contact.
  • Operate the Practice computer system as required. (Full training will be given).
  • Initiate and compile accurately forms normally used in the running of a medical Practice and record appropriately.
  • Referral management
  • Collate and maintain files, medical records and associated surgery records (including pathology and radiology results) as necessary.

 The Person

  • Working knowledge and experience within the Customer services sector or reception environment.
  • Good IT knowledge and literacy.
  • Excellent Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word.
  • Excellent communication skills and customer care skills
  • Ability to work alone and under pressure.
  • Ability to handle customer complaints in an appropriate manner.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and under own supervision.
  • Good standard of literacy and numeracy.
  • Excellent timekeeping.
  • Presentable in personal appearance.
